Abo's Pizza and the Game of Pool Make a
Great Match at Table Steaks
DENVER, CO - Boulder-based Abo's Pizza has opened
its 15th Front Range location in Englewood located
in the new Table Steaks Pool Hall at 101 West Floyd
Avenue in Englewood, Colorado, one block west of Broadway
on Floyd. Known for its authentic New York Neapolitan
pizza since 1977, Abo's Pizza in Englewood offers
an extensive menu of legendary Abo's Pizza pies in
addition to several hot and spicy favorites including
Abo's Z Sauce Wings (original and chipotle), crispy
cream cheese poppers with raspberry habanero sauce,
and chipotle chicken buffalo pizza made with Abo's
Z Sauce. A full bar is also available. The Englewood
Abo's is open seven days a week from 10:30 a.m. to
midnight, offering convenient in-house dining, take-out,
and delivery.
This year marks the first time for holding the coat
drive. “We are thankful to every fellow Coloradoan
who participated. This was a team effort among all
15 Abo’s locations across the Front Range and we are
looking forward to making the coat for a free slice
drive for The Salvation Army an annual tradition,”
said Steve Abo, President and founder of Abo’s Pizza.
Each Abo's Pizza location across the Front Range
is independently owned and operated. Gunther Mueller
owns the new Englewood location in addition to two
other Abo's Pizza establishments located in Centennial
and Littleton.
Abo's Pizza in Englewood is the first privately licensed
Abo's outside of Boulder to combine the passion for
pizza with the art of the game. Mueller's banker referred
him to pool hall entrepreneur Frank Burgess who was
getting ready to open Table Steaks in December 2004,
a pool hall complete with full-service dining, an
Antonio's Coffee Shop, and a space specifically designated
for a pizza place. After just a few rounds of negations
over, what else, but Abo's pizza, it became clear
that a venture between Abo's and Table Steaks would
be just the slice of economic opportunity that both
owners were looking for. "With the game of pool re-establishing
its popularity and Abo's Pizza becoming more widely
known and sought after along the Front Range," said
Mueller, "the business decision to combine pizza and
pool makes for a deliciously new and entertaining
venue for Englewood's community and surrounding neighborhoods."

ABO’S PIZZA COLLECTS MORE THAN 1000 COATS
FOR THE SALVATION ARMY
A Coat For A Free Slice Drive Was A Warm Success
DENVER, CO – In celebration of National Pizza Month
last October, Abo’s Pizza held a month-long coat drive
for The Salvation Army. The theme behind the drive
was to donate a coat at any Abo’s Pizza location and
receive a free slice of Abo’s authentic New York Neapolitan
Pizza. The goal for October was to collect 1000 coats
and with the help of pizza lovers across the state,
Abo’s collected a total of
1045 coats to donate to The Salvation Army. With the
recent blast of cold weather this past week, the timing
for receiving such a large number of coats was timely
as The Salvation Army witnessed an influx of Coloradoans
needing coats and demand is expected to rise in the
weeks ahead. Public Relations Director for The Salvation
Army Becky O’Guin said “We are very grateful to Abo’s
Pizza for doing the coat drive and they come just
in time for a great need.”
This year marks the first time for holding the coat
drive. “We are thankful to every fellow Coloradoan

ABO'S PIZZA CELEBRATES NATIONAL
PIZZA MONTH IN OCTOBER WITH COAT DRIVE FOR THE SALVATION
ARMY
Donate a Coat and Enjoy a Free
Slice of Pizza
DENVER, CO - October is National Pizza
Month and Abo's Pizza has teamed up with The Salvation
Army to help provide coats to Coloradoans in need
when cold weather begins to hit the state. The coat
drive begins October 1 and runs through October 31.
Salvation Army coat barrels will be placed at all
15 Abo's Pizza locations in Metro Denver, Greeley,
Fort Collins, Longmont, and Boulder. Each person who
donates a coat at any Abo's location will receive
one free slice of Abo's authentic New York Neapolitan
pizza.
With pizza demand on the rise as fall
and football season kick into high gear, October is
naturally a good time of year to capitalize on the
increased volume of customers and begin collecting
coats for The Salvation Army. The Salvation Army's
coat supply is typically low this time of year due
to quick demand. "Our goal is to collect at least
1,000 coats within one month. It is our hope that
Coloradoans who have coats they'd like to donate will
stop by any of our Front Range locations with their
donation and in return for their coat will receive
a free slice of hot Abo's Pizza," said Steve Abo,
President of Abo's Pizza, Inc.
This year, The Salvation Army especially
needs children's coats. "While the economy shows
signs of improvement, the need for services including
coats is going to be great. We are expecting demand
for coats to be as high as last year, if not higher
due to a slowly recovering economy," said Becky O'Guin,
Public Relations Director for The Salvation Army.
Abo's Pizza thanks everyone in advance
for participating in this drive and helping to meet
or exceed the goal of 1,000 coats for The Salvation
Army. For more information about the Abo's Pizza coat
drive, please call 303-597-0200. For more information

ABO'S PIZZA DONATES 100 NEW BLANKETS TO
DENVER RESCUE MISSION
Abo's Pizza raises $1600 for Denver Rescue Mission
during Raising Dough for Warmth campaign
DENVER, CO - On Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at
10:00 a.m., Steve Abo, founder and president of Boulder-based
Abo's Pizza, Inc. donated 100 new wool blankets to
the Denver Rescue Mission on behalf of all Abo's Pizza
locations across the Front Range. Denver Rescue Mission's
Director of Procurement Lisette Williams and a few
residents gratefully accepted the donation of blankets.
Last December, the Abo's Pizza Raising Dough for
Warmth fundraiser for the Denver Rescue Mission generated
$1600 among the 14 participating Abo's Pizza locations.
A check in the amount of $1000 was given to the Denver
Rescue Mission in January to used for serving 543
meals to the hungry and hurting homeless. The remaining
$600 was used this month to buy 100 new wool blankets
for the non-profit organization. The blankets were
purchased slightly above cost from the Army Navy Surplus
Store located at 3524 South Broadway in Englewood.
Abo's Pizza customers generated the funds by guessing
how many Peanut M&M's® were in a jar at $1 per guess.
The actual number of Peanut M&M's® was 688 per jar
and the customer at each Abo's Pizza location whose
guess came closest to the actual number of Peanut
M&M's® won a free Abo's Pizza a month for a year.
"We are thrilled to be the recipient of these blankets
and the $1000 cash donation. Blankets are always in
short supply and this substantial amount of blankets
will warm the souls of many homeless in Denver who
would otherwise not have a blanket during this cold
time of year. We are so grateful to Abo's Pizza and
every customer who pledged $1 guesses for this worthy
cause during Raising Dough for Warmth," said Denver
Rescue Mission's Lisette Williams.
"The guessing for blankets fundraiser was a great
grassroots opportunity to get the public involved
in helping the homeless in our community," said Steve
Abo, president of Abo's Pizza, Inc. "We are humbled
by the generosity of the customers who participated
and are comforted to know that many homeless will
be warmer this season with these new blankets and
the Mission has additional funding for several hundred
meals."

and the results, please call 303-597-0200.

five blood drives at our locations we hope to help
Bonfils generate just over 200 donors and we want

"We are humbled
by the generosity of the customers who participated
and are comforted to know that many homeless will
be warmer this season with these new blankets and
the Mission has additional funding for several hundred
meals."
